SSAT Awards Press Release

St Michael’s Catholic College is delighted that their excellent outcomes have been recognised by SSAT (The Schools, Students and Teachers Network) in this year’s Educational Outcomes Awards. The SSAT Educational Outcomes database compares all state-funded schools in England and the awards recognise that St Michael’s Catholic College is among the highest performing secondary schools in the country, based on 2023 performance data and information from Ofsted.

St Michael’s Catholic College was recognised in three categories, receiving awards for being in the top 10% of non-selective schools nationally for student attainment, in the top 20% for progress, and in recognition of achieving high levels of performance for students eligible for the Pupil Premium.

St Michael’s is the only SSAT school to be a triple award winner and is also the sole recipient of the Closing the Gap Award.

Sue Williamson, Chief Executive of SSAT said:
“Congratulations to St Michael’s Catholic College on winning three SSAT Educational Outcomes Awards. This success is down to the superb learning and teaching, outstanding support and inspirational leadership of students, staff, parents and governors. You have made a huge difference to the lives of the young people in your school. Thank you.”

Felicity Corcoran, Principal of St Michael’s Catholic College said:
“To be recognised with three Educational Outcomes Award is a major achievement. It is wonderful to receive this national recognition and is testament to the consistent hard work and commitment of our staff, students, parents and governors to our Salesian ethos and mission which makes a significant difference to the lives of our students.”
