Christmas Hampers for the Elderly

page

On the last day of term St Michael’s students were allowed to wear their own clothes to school in exchange for a donation of £2 worth of non-perishable food.

The food collected was donated to the Southwark Irish Pensioners Project and they were able to deliver 34 hampers to their most needy and vulnerable elderly clients, 100 ‘goody bags’ to their most isolated and sick pensioners, (around a quarter of whom live in care homes with no family living close by to visit them) and donated anything left to the Manna Centre – a homeless charity based in SE1.

All the recipients were truly grateful to receive them.
