15 of St. Michael’s Year 12 students joined the Career Ready 2023-25 programme yesterday, meeting their professional mentors at the inaugural Icebreaker Event. Career Ready is a not-for-profit organisation supporting young people to gain skills and to make connection so that they can successfully move into the workplace.
The 18-month programme involves mentoring from industry professionals, masterclasses and workplace visits; and summer paid internships (with providers from HFW and Clifford Chance Law to British Land to Citi and Silicon Valley Banks). Former CR students have gone on to join some of the companies they interned at, earned competitive apprenticeships; and in some cases have come back to speak to current students as part of the CR programme. All our Vocational and Business Students are encouraged to apply and have priority application.
