A level and CTEC press release 2023

St Michael’s Catholic College is delighted with the success of the year 13 A level and CTEC students, the vast majority of whom will be taking up places in their first choice of university or apprenticeship. The college’s results were above national averages on all measures and even with exam boards returning to 2019 gradings they were much higher than our 2019 results.

Achievements include students taking up places at Oxford to read English Literature, Leeds and Imperial for Engineering, Edinburgh to read History, London School of Economics and Kings to read Maths, Cardiff for Biomedical Science, Birmingham for Dentistry along with students who will be starting apprenticeships in Quantity Surveying, Cyber Security and Marketing.

Destiny, who will taking up an apprenticeship in Project Management and achieved triple Distinctions in CTEC Business said ‘I got exactly what I wanted to get: all the time spent studying in the library paid off and Emily who will be starting at Oxford University in October said I feel excited and relieved to have got my place to read English Literature at Oxford. I’ll always be grateful for the support and encouragement I’ve received at St Michael’s and I’m looking forward to the next stage of my academic career’.

We are proud of all our students who worked so hard and wish them the very best for the future.
