St Michael’s is part of the DfE RISE Fortnight this March

RISE Fortnight 2026

We’re excited to share that St Michael’s will be hosting visits during RISE Fortnight 2026, along with St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School who are also part of the St Benedict Catholic Academy Trust.

The RISE program (which stands for Retention Incentive and School Engagement) is a Department for Education (DfE) initiative designed to support teacher recruitment and retention, particularly in schools and regions that benefit most from high-quality professional development.

RISE Fortnight is the “showcase” element of this program. It encourages high-performing schools to open their doors so that prospective teachers, ITT (Initial Teacher Training) students, and leaders can see best practices in action. It’s essentially a “professional open house” aimed at inspiring the next generation of educators.
