Working Wall

  • Non-static wall displays to help aid attainment and show topic progression throughout the year. It helps pupils identify current learning and apply this to future learning. Each working wall does not have a generic template, the teacher researches which works best for their specific students/subject.
  • One example of a working wall is building a wall of knowledge. The bottom layer would be the pupils basic knowledge (e.g. lesson one) and then they build the wall throughout each lesson to finally completing the topic (e.g. master of knowledge)
  • A-level: Pupils place answers to topic questions on the wall, creating layers to show improvements between each question asked – additionally pupils can see what an A grade looks like from other pupil answers.
