Our school was chosen for a visit this week and I organised 13 classes ranging from Key stages 3 and 4 to put their Virtual Reality App to the test. Google Expedition Team Members are travelling around the country bringing the technology to schools to get feedback from teachers and students.
Lessons ranging from the human digestive system, Astronomy, The Great Depression, Tour of Barcelona, Pilgrimage to Westminster Abbey and 7 New Wonders of the World were just a few expeditions that over 250 students experienced.
Feedback from staff and students was extremely positive. Staff loved the interactivity and control they had enabling them to be specific about what they wanted the students to learn to get the most out of lesson. The students were initially in awe of the technology but as the lesson progressed you could this was clearly a good learning tool to accompany a lesson enabling the children became immersed in their learning.
