page

Year 12 students Jack Roff and Mateo Guembe have been awarded a place on The Stuart Horne Bursary scheme.

This scheme provides 50 free places (2 to students in Southwark) on Outward Bound Canada courses to British teenagers who would not otherwise be able to afford to undertake such an experience.

Jack has been awarded a place on the Northern Ontario Discovery and Mateo on the Northern Ontario Adventure

Outward Bound Canada’s mission is to cultivate resilience, leadership, connections and compassion through inspiring and challenging journeys of self-discovery in the natural world.

They partner with high schools, universities, community groups, government agencies, corporate groups and learning institutes across Canada to provide a wide range of services that enhance capacity and leadership and assist youth and adults in challenging times of transition.

The Stuart Horne Bursary
Stuart was born and raised in Shipley, Yorkshire. He was a young man with an adventurous and ambitious spirit, who moved to Canada, where he was educated and prospered.

He set up his bursary to provide adventurous and life-changing experiences to English teenagers who yearn to reach and accelerate their potential.
