A Level Results Day 2016
St Michael’s Sixth Form results have improved significantly for the fifth year running:
43% A* – B
99% A* – E
Level 3 value added is a plus
73% of students achieved an A* – B grade or equivalent
Over one third of year 12 students achieved A* – B
The college is above national average for average point scores across all A level and vocational subjects. A huge congratulations to all our students!
In particular subjects which were rated as ‘Excellent or Outstanding’ were:
- English
- Physics
- History
- Applied Business
- Product Design
- Extended Project Qualification’s
- Italian
The College had a celebratory atmosphere this morning as we congratulated our students on success in their A level examinations.
The overwhelming majority of students in year 13 passed each of their exams at grades A* – C.
90% of Year 13 Students applied and gained University places at Institutions such as Imperial, Kings, Warwick and Queen Mary London.
The majority of subjects achieved huge success with 100% of students achieving A* – C for example: Applied Business, Product Design, English Literature, Italian, Fine Art, Further Maths, Media studies, Physics and Russian.
Students continue to perform exceptionally well in the BTEC subjects alongside their A levels, with the Average BTEC grade being a distinction – or a grade A equivalent.
The value added attainment in the sixth form is excellent, showing that students make tremendous progress from their starting points. In year 12 over a third of students achieved A* – B grades.
These brilliant results are a tribute to the hard work, commitment and dedication of both students and staff at the college along with support from their parents.
