Students complete a preparatory homework prepared for a debate the next lesson, they must have chosen a view point to argue from.

Divide the classroom tables into two sections. Allocate a time keeper and a chair person. The chair person follows a guided script that allows different members of the class to contribute, (See RE Dep). Once all contributions have taken place, the debate is open to the floor.  The students finalise the debate by completing a ballot paper.
