In November, twelve year 7 pupils went on a visit to Royal Holloway University as part of The Brilliant Club’s programme for students aspiring to attend a top University.

The Students went to the beautiful leafy campus in Egham, Surrey. As part of the trip, the Students had a tour of the campus, talks about University life and met their designated PhD candidate who has been meeting them for the last five weeks, in School, to introduce them to Literary Theory.

The students loved hearing about living in halls, the History of Royal Holloway and the famous student game of humans versus zombies! This picture shows them being bowled over by the stunning chapel on campus.

In February, the Students will have submitted and had feedback on their 1500 word assignment and will have a ‘Graduation’ event at Cambridge University.

Next term, it will be the Year 9’s turn, to get some input from a PhD candidate, while visiting top Universities and getting to work independently on a STEM project. The project is being piloted this year as part of St Michael’s G&T programme.
